Pond Explorers is a hands-on outdoor experience where kids step into real pond and stream environments to discover the hidden world beneath the surface. Using nets, magnifiers, and simple collection tools, participants will observe aquatic insects and small water life while learning how these ecosystems work.
Each session encourages curiosity, careful observation, and a deeper connection to the natural world through direct, real-life exploration.
What You’ll Learn
- Identify common aquatic insects such as mayflies, caddisflies, and dragonfly nymphs
- Use nets, magnifiers, and simple tools to safely collect and observe water life

What You’ll Need
- Clothes that can get wet and a little muddy
- Closed-toe shoes or water shoes suitable for walking in shallow water
- A towel and optional change of clothes
- A water bottle
- Weather-appropriate layers (hat, sunscreen, or light jacket depending on conditions)
